This is a commissioned garment based on the character of Zapp Brannigan of Futurama fame. I provided the tunic for the costume, while the commissioner provided the boots, gloves and belt himself. The tunic is made of red velour (yes, really) with contrasting gold pauldrons and patch. It was a big hit at Dragon*Con 2004, and the commissioner couldn't go more than a few feet at a time without someone wanting to take his picture.
