As I've developed a love of Victorian clothing I've found myself making more and more costumes in this style, simply because I want to expand my wardrobe. This outfit based on a natural form design, using Truly Victorian's fantail skirt pattern, and a blouse of my own drafting. I used this as a party outfit for a LARP character, though it traditionally would only be used as a house garment.

The blouse is made of a white cotton linen and white stretch lace. It is not really historically accurate (and isn't meant to be) but is slightly more turn of the century in design. It has elastic cuffs and buttons in the back with small pearlescent heart-shaped buttons. The skirt is made of a purple cotton velvet and closes at the center back with hooks and eyes. The pouf in the back of the skirt is created through the use of gathering and tapes. It is not necessary to wear a bustle with this style.
