A costume for a Forest of Doors NPC, the character Niavati comes from Undersea, an aquatic world suffused with spirits and vaguely eastern in design. This outfit is based loosely off the robes worn by Tibetan monks and is designed for ease of mobility, since the NPC is primarily a combat character. The 'robe' is made of black cotton, trimmed with gray bias trim. It is difficult to see in the picture, but the part that is worn across the shoulder is heavily pleated. It ties on either side over the hips. The sash is made out of a dark blue/black two-toned crinkle taffeta and ties around the waist. The white poet shirt was something we already owned and was not made by me. The necklace was made with shards of abalone shell, wooden beads and hemp cord.
