A commissioned costume based on Melody of Josie and the Pussycats. The costume is made of a lycra/spandex blend and was created by modifying a dance leotard pattern. The tail was created using my own pattern and is stuffed with cotton batting, and fully wired so it can be maneuvered into different positions. The collar incorporates elastic so that it fits well across the chest and shoulders. I made the three-dimensional cat ears from my own pattern, and they are interfaced and stuffed with cotton batting, then attached to a plastic headband.
