Status: Broken down for use in another costume

I play a character at Forest of Doors named Matilda "Mattie" Irons who is a goblin from a steampunk-Victorian world. Mattie was originally a mechanical engineer in Goblin City, thus I needed something that looked mechanic-y, vaguely Victorian and would be comfortable and functional enough to wear while running around in the woods beating people with plumbing supplies.

Some of this costume was purchased, while some of it was made from scratch. Starting at the top and working my way down, the hat was purchased at Urban Outfitter several years ago and I just happened to have it in my closet when I started playing the character. The goggles are WWII paratrooper goggles and were purchased at an army surplus store. The coat is something I made completely from scratch and is made out of this lovely fleece-fused brown faux leather. It's lined in emerald green taffeta and is extremely warm; the perfect thing for LARPing in winter. It closes down the front via four hammered brass buttons and unbuttons up each sleeve to the elbow with slightly smaller buttons. As I use my hands a lot as this character (picking locks, repairing things, removing traps, etc.) I wanted to make sure her sleeves would be able to easily pushed out of the way.

I also made the double-breasted vest out of the same material, only its lined with this wonderfully obnoxious green and blue plaid fleece. The buttons used for the vest are slightly different than the coat, as they have a stamped crest.

The tool bandolier that you see worn over the vest was made out of a thrifted brown leather purse and a couple of belts. The tools are removable and held to the bandolier by elastic tabs. There's actually a pouch under the coat on the left hand side under the coat, but you can't see it very well.

The blouse was purchased at Target, of all places, as were the brown pinstriped pants. The boots were purchased online and the clock necklace was something I picked up at Michaels. All and all, a pretty good mix of made and purchased pieces.

I hope to get pictures of me in the costume soon, but for now all I have are the dressform pics.
