Gentle Glasswing is a prominent NPC from the Enchanted Glade at Forest of Doors. As the fairies of the Glade are based upon the illustrations of Brian Froud, it was important that the character retain some of that look as well as convey the whimsical nature of the Glade. Because of this, I created the 'upside-down flower' design of the dress. It is meant to look as if Gentle Glasswing is wearing the stem as a dress with the petals of the flower making up her skirt. Around her neck is a necklace of dew drops and she wears a dew drop headdress.

The dress itself is made out of a light green faux silk fabric, and is completely self lined and lightly boned. The skirt is made of a pink-peach satin and is lightly dyed around the edges to give an suggestion of depth and texture. There are tiny green fabric 'leaves' every few panels, which are decoratively stitched to show veins and stems. The dress zips up the back.

The headdress and necklace were made by stringing clear plastic beads with an 'aurora borealis' effect on clear fishing line. I made up the pattern for the headdress as I went along, and the necklace sports a small silver filagree pendant, purchased at a craft store. The headdress pins in place, while the necklace fastens with a lobster clasp.

It is important to note that the wings pictured were not made by me. I have made similar wings in the past, but did not have enough time to create new ones prior to the event where Gentle Glasswing was introduced. The wings were purchased online and were quite affordable.
