This costume remains my favorite of the Dawn costumes. Why? I'm not really sure. Perhaps it's the white wig, or the purple jacket, or the fact that I was actually skinny enough to wear a bikini top in public back then! At any rate, this one was based on this image of Dawn, and I thought I did a pretty good job at bringing the design to life.

The wig I already owned for LARP purposes, and I specifically hunted down tiny purple cabochons for the tears. I made the collar from silver satin and an o-ring. It fastens in the back with a jewelry clasp. I also already owned the silver bikini top, and I purchased the jeans and deconstructed them through several different methods until they looked like the ones in the picture.

The most work went into the jacket. It took me forever to find a cropped leather-like jacket that would work for the costume, but eventually one popped up on Ebay and I snagged it. After bringing it home, I primed it, then spray painted it purple. It took two coats before I sealed it with a clear coat and let it dry before doing the detailing. I never managed to get a good picture of the back, but I handpainted Dawn's silver halo between the shoulder blades.
