I'm so pleased with how this costume came out! I drafted my own pattern for it, and originally it was meant to be worn as part of a group all doing versions of Asuka Langley from the anime Neon Genesis Evangelion. The group fell through, unfortunately, so it wasn't until MomoCon 2006 that I finally got the chance to wear it in public. I also wore it again as Rei Ayanami at Dragon*Con 2006.

The jumper is made of teal blue cotton and closes over the left hip with a series of hidden snaps. The blouse is something I already owned, and the ribbon around the neck is stiffened with wire to hold it's shape. I purchased the auburn wig, but made the hair clips from air dry clay. Small metal clips were fastened to the base of each piece, which was then hand painted.
